Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 100g dark chocolate (chopped or chips)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for sprinkling)
  • Butter (for greasing, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 4 equal squares.
  3. Place a small handful of chopped dark chocolate in the center of each square.
  4. Fold each square over the chocolate to form a triangle or rectangle, then press the edges firmly to seal.
  5. Beat the egg and brush it over the top of each pastry to give a golden finish.
  6. Optionally, sprinkle a little sugar on top for added sweetness and crunch.
  7. Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra decadence, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dusting of powdered sugar.
