shrimp casserole

This comforting shrimp casserole combines tender shrimp with creamy sauce and a crispy breadcrumb topping, perfect for a satisfying family dinner.

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add cooked rice, celery, onion, mushrooms, and shrimp. Mix until well combined.
  4. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  6. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter.
  7. Sprinkle breadcrumb mixture over the cheese layer.
  8. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce to the mixture before baking.
