Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted plus 4 tbsp melted for garlic butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
  6. Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffed.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with minced garlic and brush over the tops of the rolls.
  9. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven and immediately brush again with the garlic butter mixture. Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

For an extra indulgent touch, sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the rolls before baking or serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
