Hamburger Steaks in Creamy Dill Sauce

Juicy hamburger steaks served in a rich and creamy dill sauce, making a comforting and flavorful meal perfect for dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, half of the dill, and salt and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized hamburger steaks.
  3. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove patties from skillet and keep warm.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in beef broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Stir in sour cream, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and remaining fresh dill. Simmer gently for 3-4 minutes until sauce thickens.
  7. Return hamburger steaks to the skillet, spoon sauce over them, and heat through.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with extra dill if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, serve the hamburger steaks with mashed potatoes or buttered egg noodles, and garnish with fresh dill sprigs.
