Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add chopped spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked spinach, crumbled feta, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut into 1-inch wide strips.
  6. Place a spoonful of the spinach and feta mixture along one side of each strip, then fold the other side over to cover the filling.
  7. Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the twists with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, sprinkle the twists with toasted sesame seeds before baking. Serve warm with a side of tzatziki or your favorite dipping sauce.
